Here we are quickly racing to the 4th quarter of 2020.  We have seen so many of you in the office working through overuse injuries from neighborhood walking, pains from new makeshift awkward workstations, and neck and back pain because “that’s where I think I carry my stress.” Stress…let’s take a minute to talk about the stress.  Let’s acknowledge that for so many of us, this has been a challenge. It has been a challenge, it’s tiring, and there’s no specific end in sight. Obviously, the team at SCI is pro-exercise and the health benefits associated with exercise.  The endorphin rush from a good run, walk, or cycling session is like none other. Deadlifting or throwing kettlebells makes us have a “bigness” that can conquer anything. We love hearing that you’re moving your body! In addition to exercise, we are huge fans of what we put in our brains, what are we feeding ourselves mentally?  So, we’d like to share with you some of the books we’ve read (or listened to on repeat with Audible) over the past 6 months. Can’t Hurt Me by David GogginsDaring Greatly by Brene BrownGrit by Angela DuckworthThe Energy Bus by Jon GordonChop Wood Carry Water by Joshua MedcalfAtomic Habits by James ClearBecoming Bulletproof by Evy PoumpourasHealing the Shame That Binds You by John BradshawHow to Communicate by Matthew MckayA Mind of Your Own by Kelly BroganMindset by Carol Dweck We want to be encouraging to you! Encouraging you to move better and be stronger physically. But also encouraging you as you move through 2020 and into 2021. Set your yourself up mentally for success, be mentally strong!
