Habits to reach your fitness goal

Have you recently decided to make a change in your life by starting a health regiment? Great! Whatever your reasoning, whether it’s weight loss, improved performance or overall health, it is imperative that you establish some key habits to support you on your journey. Here are 7 habits that, although simple, will greatly impact your progress and aid you in reaching your set goals.  


  • Drink Water: Hydration is of key importance as it helps your body function at an optimum level. Make sure you’re getting 6-8 cups of water (8oz each) throughout your day. Carry a bottle around with you and fill it up consistently to ensure you meet this goal.

  • Sleep: Sleeping is the time your body has to revitalize and ensure your body is ready to go for the next day. Get around 8 hours of quality sleep every night.

  • Quality foods: Make sure your body is properly fueled with enough macronutrients and micronutrients. Make sure you are eating wholesome foods in variation to give your body the necessary materials to rock your day.

  • Write down your goals: Keep a diary and write down your goals. Once you establish those, create a plan to reach said goals.

  • Accountability: This is important to establish a sense of urgency. Sign up for an event or in a local gym (ask us for suggestions!) that align with your goals. This creates a goal to strive for and holds you accountable by having some skin in the game.

  • Educate Yourself: Education is a key aspect of any journey. The more you understand along the way, the better choices you can make when deciding which path is the best to achieve your goals. Read blogs like this one, watch videos or talk with one of our docs!

  • Have fun: Make sure you are enjoying your journey and are having fun. Switch up workouts, listen to great music, be playful during workouts, etc. This allows you to be happy and stick to your journey more efficiently.
